2010 Pure Stock
Driver must be 13 or older
Body/Chassis
1. OPTION I - Any American made production car, year model 1955 – 1990, with conventional coil or leaf spring and shock.
2. OPTION II - 1983 – 1993 Chevrolet S10, 2 wheel drive, w/ rear leaf springs and spec motor or 1983 – 1992 Ford Ranger, 2 wheel drive, w/ 108 wheelbase and spec motor.
3. NO McPherson STRUT CARS.
4. All cars MUST remain stock in having stock doors & posts, quarters, fenders, roof & posts, firewall, bumpers, and hinged trunk lid.
5. Bumpers MUST be stock with NO added braces outside of frame rails.
6. May use aftermarket nose and tail. Stock bumpers must remain under nose and tail piece.
7. All cars may remove inner fender wells. Trucks may remove front fender wells ONLY.
8. Unibody cars must have front and rear frame sections attached together with a minimum of 3” x 2” 10 gauge tubing.
9. May add radiator protection bar between frame horns.
10. Snout bars allowed up to radiator core support.
11. Steering column may remain stock or may be fabricated with removable steering wheel. No steering quickners.
12. Body MUST be stripped of all trim, glass, and hard plastic lenses. Holes may be patched with aluminum or steel.
13. Must have rear firewall between driver and fuel cell. All holes in rear and front firewall must be patched.
14. Firewall must remain in stock location.
15. Battery inside of driver compartment MUST be in a covered and secured container.
16. Lexan windshield with 3 support straps recommended. 5 driver safety bars with screen acceptable.
17. Minimum of 5” frame ride height, (without driver)
18. Hood and trunk must be securely pinned.
19. Must have tow chain or loop attached to frame, in both front and rear.
20. Body is to be maintained in good condition and appearance through out the season.
21. NO SPOILERS PERMITTED.
Roll Cage
1. Must have at least 4 upright bars and 2 down tube bars to rear frame rail. MUST have at least 3 left side door bars and 2 right side door bars.
1 horizontal bar behind driver and 1 angle brace bar behind driver, from horizontal bar to top of cage. Left leg protection bar recommended.
2. All cage bars MUST be round roll bar tubing, no less than 1 ½” in dia. and .095 in thickness.
3. Must have a minimum of a .062 thick steel door plate welded to outside of left door bars, top to bottom and front to rear.
4. All cage points must be welded directly to frame.
Numbers
1. All cars MUST have large legible numbers on both doors and on top (reading from passenger side) in contrasting color from body.
2. Numbers must be at least 4” thick and 18” high on doors and 24” high on roof.
3. Car must have complying number in order to compete.
4. NO spray can or tape numbers allowed.
Seat
1. Must have a racing type aluminum seat at least .090” in thickness.
2. Must have at least 4 bolts attaching seat to cage or frame, 2 in bottom and 2 in back of seat.
3. Bolts must be at least 7/16” Grade 5 with fender washer under head.
Belts
1. Must have 3” lap and shoulder belts. In good condition, no more than 4 years old.
2. Must be mounted with ½” Grade 5 bolts.
Window Net
1. REQUIRED. MUST be securely mounted to body or cage at bottom.
2. Must be securely driver attachable and removable at top.
3. Must be attached in any racing condition.
Weight
1. No added weight allowed.
Fuel Cell
1. Must have small racing type fuel cell, encased in an approved steel container or a 1/8” thick aluminum container.
Mounted on top of trunk floor. No suspended fuel cells.
2. Must be securely strapped side to side and front to back. No movement allowed.
3. Straps MUST be bolted through trunk area with 3/8” Grade 5 bolts and washers.
4. GAS ONLY. No oxygen bearing additives allowed.
Wheels and Lugs
1. 7” max. wide. Steel wheels mandatory.
2. At least ½” lug bolts and 1” lug nuts recommended.
Driveline
1. Must be painted white with front safety hoop. Steel only.
2. Must be stock diameter.
Transmission
1. Automatic with full size working converter, or a cast iron Saginaw 3 speed with all 3 gears in working order.
2. Standard transmission must have an OEM type 10 ½” single disc clutch and pressure plate.
3. Steel or cast iron, 270 degree, bellhousing recommended. Aluminum bellhousing may be used, but a steel automatic transmission type scattershield must be used.
4. Bottom of bellhousing must be left open for inspection purposes.
5. Must use mechanical type throwout bearing. No hydraulic throwout bearings allowed. May use hydraulic slave cylinder on stock bearing fork.
Brakes
1. Must lock up all 4 wheels.
2. May use racing type master cylinder and pedals.
3. Pedals MUST remain in stock location.
4. No brake bias adjuster, proportional, or shutoff valves allowed.
5. May have disk brakes on front and rear axles. Rear calipers and rotors must be OEM type. Rotor must be cast 1 piece and calipers must be cast OEM. No bolt on rotors.
Rear End/Suspension
1. 9” Ford floater rear end allowed.
2. Open rear gears only. No locked up gears or spools. No limited slip or positracs.
3. Brackets on 9” MUST be as follows, measured from centerline of axle tube to center of bolt of lower trailing arm:
78 to 88 GM Metric-3 ½”
78 and up big Metric GM-4 ¼”
73 to 77 Chevelle, Monte, Grand Prix-4 ½”
79 to 91 LTD-4 ½”
4. Must use OEM upper and lower link arms.
5. NO rear sway bars allowed.
6. Camero must have leaf spring pads welded in stock location.
Shocks and Springs
1. Stock type shock in stock location.
2. NO adjustable rate, rebuildable, aluminum, or gas charged shocks allowed.
3. May run flat end racing springs on rear, in stock location.
4. NO threaded spring adjusters of any kind allowed.
5. $80 claim on any shock of top 4 finisher. Claim must be in writing to tech official within 5 minutes of end of race.
Claim can only be made by any driver finishing the feature on the lead lap. Failure to sell, will result in loss of points and payout for that night.
Front Suspension
1. May run approved aftermarket upper A-Arms.
Spec length as follows:
78-88-GM Metric- R-8” Min., L-8 ½” Max.
78 and up Big Metric GM- R-8 ¾” Min., L-9 ¼” Max.
73-77 GM- R-8 ¾” Min., L-9 ¼” Max.
73-81, Camero- R-8 ¾” Min., L-9 ¼” Max.
79-91 Ford LTD- R-8 ¼” Min., L-8 ¾” Max.
3. Measurements taken from centerline of cross shaft to center of balljoint.
4. OEM front sway bar allowed, mounted in stock position.
Tires
1. Passenger car DOT street tires only. 7 1/2” width max.
2. Sizes: 195, 205, 215, 225, 235, 245 – 50, 60 or 70 series
Temp. Rating: A only
Traction Rating: AA or A only
Speed Ratings: H, Q, R, S, T, U, V only.
3. No W or Z rated tires allowed.
Motors
1. Must be same brand as car, in stock location, and with stock mounts.
2. OPTION I - GM/Ford – 362 cu. in. MAX.
Chrysler/Dodge – 370 cu. in. MAX.
OPTION II - GM/Ford – 315 cu. in. MAX
3. Flat top pistons or dished pistons, flat tappet cam only.
4. No aftermarket heads, intake, or exhaust.
Heads and intake must have GM, Ford, or Chrysler ID.
5. May have dual exhaust and MUST exit within 18” of rear tire.
6. Engine must maintain 14” of vacuum at 1000 RPM.
7. No headers. Cast iron exhaust only.
8. Must have radiator overflow catch can under hood. NO ANTIFREEZE, WATER ONLY.
9. Safety chain to motor recommended.
Carburetor
1. 2 Bbl. only. Max 500 CFM. Holley or Rochester only. No modifications allowed.
2. Must have choke horn intact. May remove choke butterfly plate.
3. OEM cast iron manifold only, with OEM markings. No aftermarket manifolds. No Marine, Vortec, or Bowtie heads or intakes.
4. 1” max. thick adapter between carb and intake.

No other spacers allowed.
5. $350 claim on any carburetor, of the top 4 finishers. Claim can only be made by any car finishing the feature on the lead lap.
Claim must be made in writing to tech inspector within 5 minutes of end of race. Failure to sell, will result in loss of points and payout for that night.
Ignition
1. Must be stock HEI may have HP coil and internal module.
2. May have HP coil and internal module.
3. Analog gauges only. No digital gauges or tach.
4. No traction control devices.
5. Must have safety stop switch, located behind and to left of driver.
MUST be clearly marked and located by track officials.
6. Must have working starter.
Fire Suit and Helmet
1. Must wear full SFI approved Auto racing suit.
2. Helmet must be at least Snell 90 approved.
3. NECK RESTRAINT RECOMMENDED.
4. SFI gloves and shoes recommended.
5. Suit and Helmet MUST be worn anytime car is on racing surface running above idle speed.
Miscellaneous
1. Mirrors allowed. 1 – 2 ¾” spot mirror and 1 rear view mirror. Must not extend outside
of body.
2. Radios allowed. Recommend one-way radio for all novice drivers.
