Factory Stock Rules for 2008

Participant wishes to participate at Bolivar Speedway, Bolivar, MO.  IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to compete or participate in any EVENT and/or being permitted to enter RESTRICTED AREAS (defined as any area requiring special authorization, credentials or permission to enter or any area to which admission by the general public is restricted or prohibited), PARTICIPANT, on behalf of himself or herself and his or her personal representatives, heirs, and next of kin, agrees as follows:

Cars- Any year or model rear wheel drive American production car.

Body- All cars to remain stock in all aspects and must have complete stock body. Must have factory front and rear bumpers. May run aftermarket nose but must be stock appearing. Mirrors are allowed. All glass, chrome, trim moldings, etc. must be removed.  Gutting of inside panels and front inner fenders will be allowed. Must have factory floor pan in stock location.  Fire wall may be stock or constructed of minimum .049" steel and must be complete from side to side. Trunk pan may be removed.  All doors must be bolted or welded shut. Rear fire wall is required between the driver compartment and gas tank. Trunk must be secured down. May enclose interior on right side of car, but must have a 12" x 12" trap door for inspection. Seat must be mounted in front of the original door post. Cars must be numbered with large legible numbers on both sides and top. Numbers should be in contrasting colors.  Windshield and sway bar are optional.

Spoilers: Spoilers allowed max 8 inch in material height no wider than the body and no side or center bracing allowed.

Frame- Minimum frame height of 5 (five) inches. Minimum wheelbase of 108" we' willl allow 1/2" tolerance on opposite side. If running an old model Camaro or Monte Carlo frame the floor pan, firewall and trunk pan must remain OEM for that frame in OEM location from front bumper to rear firewall. You can run a later model body on an old model frame but must be stock in all aspects. No cutting, moving or shortening allowed.  No other weight transfer devices of any kind. Radiator brace allowed. Lead weight may be added but must be painted white with your car number bolted to the frame in a safe manner. Quick steering allowed. Uni-body frame must be tied together. If car comes out with rack and pinion steering, it has to be OEM factory.

Suspension- Weight jack bolts are optional. Adjustable spring spacers are allowed.  No torque arms. One shock only per wheel.  All shocks can be relocated. All spring must be in stock location. Suspension mounts must be OEM and in OEM locations. Sway bars must be OEM and in OEM location. May use aftermarket upper a-frame but must mount on OEM mounts.  No heim or bearing type bushing in rear suspension. No more than 56% of total weight can be left side weight.

Roll bars-Four bar roll cage is required and must be frame mounted. Minimum of three bars in driver's door. Roll cage must be cross-braced. Roll cage must be minimum of 1 ˝” steel tubing with minimum wall thickness of .095. Front and rear hoops are allowed.

Brakes- Must have four wheel brakes. Aftermarket pedal assembly allowed.  Brakes bias or proportional valves allowed. Shut off valves are allowed.

May use track engine or open motor - see options below:

Track Engine. - Must use OEM cast iron, American make V-8 engines only.  All engines must be able to be used in conventional passenger car without alterations. External engine casting and threaded holes cannot be altered. No aluminum, titanium or carbon fiber components allowed.  Maximum cubic inch limits: No 400 or larger cubic inch parts allowed.  Engine must appear strictly stock. No lighting of block allowed.  No lightweight rods or crankshaft.  Crankshaft must be stock appearing.  No pendulum cut or holes across counterweights.  No aluminum or light weight engine parts allowed. A minimum 1-inch plug above the oil level in the side of the oil pan recommended. If you do not have a plug the oil pan the pan will have to be removed at time of inspection.  You will be checked.

Valve Train - Maximum 2.02-inch intake valves and 1.60-inch exhaust valves.  No titanium valve springs or retainers.  Guide plates and screw in studs allowed.  Flat milling allowed, No angle milling allowed.  Flattop or dished pistons only. Must use flat tappet cam and lifters.  No mushroom lifters. Cannot alter lifter bores. Must use OEM size lifters for block being used Any length push rods allowed.  Aluminum roller rocker arms and stud girdles are allowed. No canted valves.  Inline valves only.  Maximum valve spring diameter 1.437 inch.

Blocks:
GENERAL MOTORS:  Must be 3.48-inch stroke and 4.060-inch maximum bore. Maximum 360 cubic inches.   COMPONENT GUIDELINES: Must use one of following blocks, 3892657, 3914678, 3932388, 3932386, 3956618, 3970000,3970006, 3970010, 3970014, 10066033, 10066036, 14010207, 14010209, 14010287, 14016376, 14016379
FORD:  Stock cast iron blocks 260, 289, 302, 351.  Maximum 360 cubic inches.  No aftermarket blocks. Flat top or dished pistons only.
CHRYSLER:  Stock cast iron blocks 273, 318, 340, 360.  Maximum 370 cubic inches. Flat top or dished pistons only.
HEADS:
GM: Any stock GM head. No vortec or bowtie heads allowed. 
            Dart – 10320010 or 10311112
            World Products – 011250 or 012150
FORD: Any stock Ford Head
            World Products – 053040 or E351
CHRYSLER: Any OEM factory production Chrysler heads allowed with inline valves (no canted valves) no larger than 2.04-inch intake and 1.70-inch exhaust.  No W-2 or aftermarket heads allowed.  Chrysler may use OEM rocker arm bars. 
No aftermarket head other than listed above allowed.
Track has option to enforce these restrictions with a cubic inch pump gauge, or by visually checking parts and part numbers Disqualification and loss of points if found illegal.
Carburetor:-
Must use stock Holley 4412 500 CFM carburetor only. No Modifications. Choke horn must be intact.  May remove choke butterfly.  Must use Edelbrock Performer  4 bbl. intake manifold. Chevrolet part # 2101,  Ford part # 2121 or 2181 or Chrysler part # 2176.  NO exceptions. No Performer RPM or air gap manifolds.  Must use Mr. Gasket part No. 1933, Moroso part. No.64966, Speedway part No. 910-11510, or HVH part. No.4412-2 carburetor adaptor.  No spacers are allowed. Carburetor and adaptor gaskets maximum 0.050 inch thick.

Carburetor may be claimed for $250.00 by the track or any driver finishing on the same lap as the winner.  Claimer must state intention to claim to track officials within 5 minutes of end of race.  Failure to sell carburetor will result in loss of  points and money for that night.
Oil Pan
- Extra capacity oil pans are permitted. No dry sumps allowed.  Oil pump must mount in stock position.
Starter - Engine must have working starter and must be capable of starting car on demand.
Ignition- No aftermarket distributors. May use HEI style distributors. MSD box allowed. $300.00 claim on MSD box. One 12-volt battery mounted in protected position and securely fastened.


Open Motor  - You also may run an open motor with maximum 750 cfm Holley with rear linkage unhooked and tied shut.  No two barrel carbs on open motors.
 

Center line of crankshaft must be 12 inches from the ground.
 

Rear ends and drive lines-Rear ends may be locked. 8" or 9" ford may be used in all car makes. GM cars must run GM suspension, Ford on Ford, etc. Floaters ok. No aftermarket parts. Rear disc brakes allowed. No aluminum parts. All drive shafts must be painted white and numbered with your car number and retained with a steel safety strap. No ratchet type rear ends. OEM only. May run lowering blocks, springs spacers. No adjustable trailing arms. Spring sliders allowed on rear spring shackles only. Aluminum shackles are allowed.

Clutch & Transmission- OEM 3 or 4 speed or automatic transmission.  Standard transmission must have workable clutch inside of bellhousing.   Automatic may use gate valve.  No aftermarket transmissions. No direct drives. Car must move under its own power.

Fuel- No alcohol, no electric pumps, or pressure systems. Racing fuel cell mandatory. Fuel cell must not hang below rear end housing. Must have a metal can if cell hangs through floor pan.

Radiator- radiator and transmission coolers must be mounted under the hood (aluminum approved).

Seat and belts- metal racing seat only, no fiberglass seats. 5 point racing harness that is safety approved and less than 2 years old. Seats/belts must be bolted to frame.

Tires-Hoosier asphalt take off (10.0 /15), Hoosier G-60,  G-60 McCreary or Hoosier 500 tires. Numbers must be visible for inspection. May re-groove tires. No new tires allowed.

Wheels- Any 8” or 10” racing wheel. Bead lock on right rear only. No wide fives.

Starters- Starter must be in working order.

Safety- Full drivers suit required at any time you are on track (one or two piece).  Snell 90 approved helmets, no motorcycle helmets. Fire extinguisher or fire systems must be installed in all cars. Neck rolls, fire resistant gloves, and fire safety shoes are highly recommended.
